Credible implementation of reforms

19.04.2024 - At the World Bank Spring meetings, Switzerland called for systematic implementation of the World Bank's internal reforms so that developing countries are able to tackle global challenges more effectively. Switzerland also called on the World Bank to coordinate its programmes closely with other development organisations and to mobilise additional private capital in order to achieve the sustainable development and climate goals.

A strong signal from shareholders in support of the Multilateral Development Banks

16.04.2024 - Together with other countries, Switzerland has announced the results of a study showing that a call on the callable capital of the Multilateral Development Banks is extremely unlikely. Should such a call nevertheless prove necessary, shareholders have the necessary legal bases enabling them to act. There has never been a call on callable capital.

Two sides of the same coin

08.04.2024 - SECO's economic cooperation helps its partner countries to meet the challenges of climate change. The new strategy focuses on four areas: developing renewable energies, improving supply chains, establishing sustainable financing and optimising urban planning.
