Annual Meeting 2026 of the Inter-American Development Bank
At the Annual Meeting 2026 of the Inter-American Development Bank in Asunción, Paraguay, Switzerland appreciated the strong reform progress by IDB while urging a continued focus on quality and results orientation as well as a sustained ambition on climate change and gender equality.
Switzerland stressed that the IDB is a priority institution for Switzerland and a key partner for its international cooperation and foreign economic policy in the region. Switzerland welcomed IDB Invest’s new business model as key innovation to strengthen private capital mobilization and anncouned its contribution. Against the background of the EFTA-Mercosur free trade agreement Switzerland is keen to deepen the partnership with IDB to unlock more business and growth opportunities for Swiss companies.
