Cooperation with the Swiss Private Sector to Support Ukraine's Reconstruction

The population of Ukraine should benefit from the expertise and innovative, high-quality products from Switzerland. To support this, Switzerland has developed measures to increase the involvement of the Swiss private sector.

Switzerland aims to help rebuild Ukraine by leveraging Swiss expertise and innovative, high-quality products. Reconstruction efforts focus on the following key sectors:

  • Energy infrastructure and energy efficiency
  • Water treatment and water infrastructure
  • Transport infrastructure
  • Civil buildings

Swiss Involvement in Ukraine's Reconstruction and Recovery

In summer 2024, the Swiss Government introduced measures to enhance the involvement of Swiss businesses. During the initial phase, the Switzerland will cooperate exclusively with Swiss companies already established in Ukraine.

How Can Swiss Companies Participate in Switzerland's Reconstruction and Recovery Efforts?

Additional Participation Opportunities

The Swiss Government is working on creating a legal framework to enable companies without a Ukrainian branch to participate in broader reconstruction and recovery efforts. Updates will be provided in due course.

Meanwhile, Swiss companies can:

  • Engage in reconstruction through individual projects (see Scenario 1).
  • Build networks in Ukraine to prepare for future opportunities.

The 6 Measures for Cooperation with the Swiss Private Sector

Switzerland has introduced six measures to support the reconstruction of Ukraine and foster a sustainable, resilient economy in partnership with the Swiss private sector. These initiatives complement existing Swiss international cooperation efforts in Ukraine.
