In 2018/19, SECO mandated external experts to examine the sustainability of its projects. The report provides information on how other donors assess the criterion of sustainability and gives indications on how good practices can be used.

In 2018/19, SECO mandated an analysis of 25 of its projects. The evaluation confirms SECO WE’s strategic direction and operational rigor. The portfolio was assessed as “satisfactory” (i.e. good) following the DAC criteria – relevance, effectiveness, efficiency, sustainability.

2018, the SECO analyzed 14 of his projects. The evaluation concludes that the relevance of SECO's projects is high, that their effectiveness and efficiency is satisfactory and that Switzerland's visibility and value added are acknowledged, particularly in bilateral projects.

The evaluation 2016 shows good results. The detailed audit reveals that the approximately 300 projects are making a positive contribution in stimulating economic and social development in the 13 partner states.
